SERPENTERIUM: Into the realm of Obscurity (2004)

Serpenterium was a Black Metal band located on the South west of Puerto Rico(San German) Founded on April 1996 by Arnaldo and Luiz. The band had a great cult following on the late 90s and began to played gigs and Fests around the island of P.R sharing stage with acts like Godless,Organic Infest,Inner Hate,Sniff,Darkned Skies,Encrypted among others. The band released various demos/MCD and one Full Lenght album.

TINIEBLAS: Dark Infernal Light (1997)

Tinieblas was a Melodic Black Metal band from Puerto Rico formed in around somewhere in the mid 90s. They had a short life-span and released “Dark Infernal Light” in 1997.The definition of Tinieblas is darkness in Spanish. Tinieblas returned in 2007 for a reunion show with Robert(Dismal divinity)on drums!. The last show took place in La Rueda,Arecibo. Then the band disbanded.

SNIFF: Eyes of Blood (EP)

SNIFF was a Metal band formed in 1999 Mayaguez,P.R. The band kept active till 2007 Lots of lineup changes, The only original member that survived was Chriss Metal who later on continued with his band Sepulchral playing Sniff songs for some time. Christian Rivera formed the band Alma Blanca then played on Shotgun & other projects. Edwing Torres lost interest of the music scene. Jonathan & Annibal Cardona were fired. But the band had lots of other members, Titus from abismo Nuclear played Bass for some years with the band. Manolo from Black Orchid did some keyboards in 2 shows (Tabu Fest) & (in Bayamon) forgot the name of the gig. This EP was recorded in 2001 produced by Royal(ex-godless, ex-Sicamol). SNIFF was active in the time were Serpenterium, Godless, Infectoria, Encrypted, Osamenta, Organic Infest and other legends were still flying the flag of Metal in P.R. Cheesy lyrics & name but great music and times!. So heres another clasic! Enjoy.

ORGANIC INFEST: Penitence 1993

ORGANIC INFEST!- P.R KINGS OF DEATH METAL!.
Formed in 1991 in San Lorenzo,P.R by Freddy,Chegui & Juan. A 3 piece band who later added another guitar player named Kiko. Organic Infest also had a demo recorded in 1993 and then released PENITENCE(full length). This Album had a great reaction worldwide on the death metal scene!. Organic were a international act not only played in P.R. Also shared stage with bands like Monstrocity,Divine Empire,Chunk Bucket,Incantation among others. The band in 1993 brokeup for a time and later came back strong in 2001 releasing there AGONY EP!. I saw this record even in SEARS! it had a Black Sabbath cover the son Black Sabbath. The band continued to play gigs in P.R and also did a show on Florida etc.. Then in 2003 Released there second full length album Way to Temptation!. With time Freddy left the band and formed Voracious a great band but didnt last much, Right Freddy is living in USA. Chegui continued the band on the name of ORGANIC experimenting with 2 bass guitars! no guitars. Then later on the band disbanded. So this is my tribute to MY FAVORITE Death Metal band of P.R they are a big influence!. So this is my way of giving tribute,love and immortalizing this piece of history!. OSAMENTA: Cursed of the Zombie (single) 2001

Well my little knowledge of this oldfriends!... OSAMENTA was like a Ghoust! it came it killed, it maked people shit on there pants with the killer vocals, killer musicianship!. They were most well known like the Cannibal Corpse of Puerto Rico. All thought they had a lot of other influences, Carlos could sing just like Corpse Grinder!. The band was formed in PONCE(south side of P.R) by Junito, Ironicly influenced by his death heroes Cannibal Corpse and other death metal legends(great guitar player! one of the best!).

They tried to work for a full length album but never got recorded sadly. Then Christian(bass) Formed the band Inflamatory but also didnt last so much. I had some other tracks with no vocals but i have to dig a big search on my vault. I DO have a full set live VIDEO on VHS! ill try to upload that. So this is a little Jewell left behind!. One of the greatest and shocking bands ever for there brutality and musicianship live!. One of my personal favorites! lots of memories!! and now i want to shared it with you guys!. SACRIFICIO: Fin de la Fe (ful llength) 2004

OFFICIAL BIOGRAPHY FROM DANSCRYPT RECORDS.

SACRIFICIO, the band was formed in Puerto Rico with drummer Luis Robles, guitarists Jeffrey Dones and David Claudio, bass guitar Carlos Otero and vocals Jean Otero. At the end of 2001 the band recorded their first demo "Sacrificio" with 2 songs: "En problemas" and "Engendro". The sound quality of the demo wasn't the best due to a low budget situation, but it reflected the style and the influences of the band at that moment. The demo was sold and distributed in Puerto Rico only. Sacrificio played many local gigs and slowly got support from many metal fans. After openning the "Monstrosity" concert in May of 2003 the band started to prepare for what is now "FIN DE LA FE" (The End of Faith), the bands first production under "Dan's Crypt Records" label. The song "Eterno Resurgir" also appears on "ROTTENNESS II" a compilation of bands of Puerto Rico and Brazil. In November of 2003 Luis Robles quit the band in the middle of the recording process for the CD and Robert Santos ( Ex- Encrypted) and (Dismal Divinity) finished the recording of the drums, giving the most brutal and aggressive touch for the bands first production. Luis was replaced by Juan Pablo Figueroa who played with the band until the release show and then was kick out on July 2004 for not showing up for the bands practices and for his lack of responsibility. Immediately Robert Santos was added to the band. Shortly after David Claudio left the band in August of 2004 to leave for the U.S.Coast Guard. After all these adjustments the band is more organized and focus and working with new material for their next production. The current line-up is: Jean Otero, Carlos Otero, Jeffrey Dones and Robert Santos. The bands influences from the beginning were death and trash and after the time they maintained the same style and added a more brutal touch to their songs, developing an a apocalyptic atmosphere including breakdowns, melodies and lots of grinds in each song. All the lyrics are based on death and christian.

This band really won my fucking heart! pure sick and brutal!. Had members of Dismal divinity and Encrypted. The image onstage was how a real death metal band should look like!. It had John Domes(cardinal sin)Brother on Guitar! his name was Jeffrey Domes!. With time Jean Otero left the band to live in USA & so on the band disbanded sadly! Leaving this Jewell behind!. Enjoy one of the clasics and legends of PR death metal scene!. HAILS!!.

Already released the Black Apples demo in 2003. Matriarch released a single promo song called Sinful of Decadence in 2005 and it showed the progres and musical mature of the band.

SICAMOL: Dance Macabra 2001 EP.

Sicamol was a Black Metal band formed in 1995 after the departure of Royal Torres and Pedro a.k.a. Faustus from the band Godless. Later the band started playing gigs around the island for some time and recorded a demo that wasnt released officialy. With Jonathan from(Camalion) on guitars & Jose aymat on second guitar. In 2001 the band released a 6 songs EP called Dance Macabra. This album has a more industrial sound experimenting with mechanical sounds. In this EP the lineup is Royal Torres on Vocals, Anibal(Pito) on guitars and keyboards & Ricky Hernandez on electric Drums. The band later recorded a full length album that was never released! sadly... But will see the light of day hopefully on this page ;) so stick around!.

ENCRYPTED: Drifting to the Impaled (2000)

(THE ORIGINAL BIOGRAPHY BY THE BAND!)
ENCRYPTED was formed in 1998 under the moniker of Grieved, Vocalist Jay Collazo and Drummer Robert Santos (Sacrificio/Dismal Divinity) got together with the same idea, to create music that would make any handy-cap jump out of the wheelhair into the pit action, Robert Webster was recluted for the Bass duties and Manuel Flecha for Guitarist this line-up went together through several live shows in the Puerto Rico area, gaining soon the recognition for P.R. ’s In Sickest Death Metal act. By early 2000 the band recorded a two song promo demo which one of the track was included on “Down to the Abyss” compilation CD, soon after Robert Webster and Manuel Flecha were replaced for Guitarist Freddy Figueroa and the new Bassist Anthony Nieves shortly after they released their debut six songs MCD “Drifting to the Impaled” on Under The Baphomet Records which sold over 3000 copies around the world and had very good response from the DM followers.
Many underground Zine gave very good reviews and Magazines like Metal Maniacs praised their mosh inducing metal flavor. In late 2001 Freddy left the band to put his full time effort on his band
Organic Infest.
Onix Feliciano and Miguel Flores where incorporated in the ENCRYPTED ranks to bring a much more complete sound and a better stage presence converting the band into a quintet combo. They started to work on new material and playing gigs around the island.

INFECTORIA: 2 songs demo (2002)

Probably one of the first or the first! band to bring the metalcore sound to Puerto Rico. While the first demo! with Eduardo on vocals the band was a full oldschool Death Metal band. This demo shows the band with Blacky on vocals moving full to the metalcore circle.I got this original demo handed by Jaime(guitars)from Infectoria in 2002 in Freakis bar,Mayaguez. 2003 DISMAL DIVINITY- Demo- Summoning the storms.

How many of you remember the band DISMAL DIVINITY from Puerto Rico?. Most recognised by having a female vocalist. But did you ever heard there first 2003 demo?. Summoning the storms demo?. For me thats the REAL Dismal Divinity with Robert on Vocals! and i love the production way more than there debut album!. It creates a ambient of sickness and chaos!.
